Ahiru no Sora Episode 19 Recap

The boys of Kuzuryū High were initially able to take a pretty good lead against the players of Kitasumi High. But as the match progresses further, the Kitasumi team is somehow able to find its way around their defense and start taking a good lead while Sora warms the bench. When things go a little out of hand, Sora decides to step in and change the pace of the game. Nearing towards the end of the third quarter, Sora jumps right in somehow manages to get his team in par with the opponents in the nick of time. The players of Kuzuryū High, who were starting to lose motivation, see a ray of hope.

In the 19th episode, the fourth quarter begins and yet again, Kuzuryū High School team struggles to keep up with their opponents. Adding to their troubles, almost all of their players run out of steam. Sora begins to get tired and Momoharu also fails to keep his guard up. In the meantime, Kitasumi High just keeps scoring against them and their lead just increases. Soon, they start leading in double digits and Chiaki realizes that something really needs to be done. He asks Sora if he’s any good at being the point guard. Sora claims that because of his height, that is the only position he always got to play. Chiaki asks him to become the point guard of the team and though he seems to be reluctant about it, Sora plays along with his new plan.

In the next episode, if Sora manages to truly shine as a point guard, Kuzuryū High School team will be able to keep up with their opponents. However, if Chiaki’s plan does not work out, then their loss in this practice match is almost certain. But looking at Sora’s experience as the point guard in the past, it is almost certain that he’ll be a lot better than anyone expects him to be. And also, since he is the player who always keeps the team afloat even during the toughest times, we can expect him to again take the lead before the fourth quarter comes to an end.
