Ahiru no Sora Episode 23 Recap
‘Ahiru no Sora’ has now introduced a whole new character named Mokichi. Mokichi is extremely tall but he suffers from certain medical conditions that disable him from playing any sport. Previously, he proved that he’s really good at hook shots and knows how to use his height to his advantage. The boys even considered taking him in on the team. But just to get them off his back, Mokichi tells them that his doctor has asked him not to play any sports. In the 22nd episode, Mokichi reveals it to his chemistry club that he lied to the team about the doctor and he is allowed to play sports. He just does not believe that he is worthy enough to play with them.
Much later in the episode, Mokichi ends up falling down on the street and the boys decide to carry him back home. To their surprise, Mokichi is extremely rich and lives in a grand bungalow. They discover that he also had own private basketball court and start playing there. That’s when Mokichi’s elder sister steps out of the bungalow and thanks them for bringing him back home. She later invites them inside and tells them that Mokichi used to be very passionte about the sport in middle school. There was a time when he even played for his school and demanded his father to build a court inside their home.
Hearing this, Mokichi gets up and asks her to stop. He recalls those days and claims that he was often looked down upon by his teammates. Most people called him slow and even judged him for being so tall and that’s the reason why he gave up playing. Mokichi later ends up meeting one of his old friends from middle school and like everyone else, she, too, encourages him to play basketball again. In the closing scene of the episode, Mokichi can be seen playing basketball in his home’s court while his family members look at him with awe. So clearly, in the next episode, we can expect him to start playing for the school’s team. Sora’s dream of playing with him will finally come true.
