How did Alec Monopoly earn his money and wealth?
Alec Monopoly is a professional graffiti artist. He grew up in Westhampton Beach, New York and was named Alec Andon. He was later professionally known as Alec Monopoly after his top-hatted graffiti character of Monopoly Man. The idea of Monopoly man was inspired by the stockbroker Bernie Madoff. Monopoly in his works satirically blends Pop Art with cultural criticism and social commentary. Monopoly is known to often paint on abandoned buildings and warehouses as opposed to government properties or businesses avoiding vandalism, unlike many other graffiti artists.
Monopoly moved to Los Angeles in 2006. In 2010, Monopoly had his first solo art gallery show in New York. Later in the year, he took part in an exhibition as a part of Art Basel Miami Beach at Mondrian Hotel. Monopoly hosted a yacht party sponsored by Samsung at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2013. The same year he created a mural live on the red carpet for the film, Justin Bieber’s Believe, a concert film and sequel to the film Never Say Never by Justin Bieber.
In 2015, he exhibited in Art Basel Hong Kong. In 2016, Monopoly became the ambassador of Swiss watch company TAG Heuer. They announced the collaboration with Monopoly naming him as the “art provocateur” of the company.

In 2014, Monopoly appeared as a guest in the web series World Wide Kat. The show was hosted by Katayoun De La Fuente in which May heads out and meets a guest in her each episode who is creating a wave in their industry.
