American Ninja Warrior Season 13 Episode 5 Recap

In the fifth episode of ‘American Ninja Warrior’ season 13, titled ‘Qualifiers 5,’ the ninjas took their last shot in acing the world’s most complex obstacle course in Tacoma Dome. It started off with Leif Sundberg AKA the Swedish ninja holding a world record of completing the course in under a minute. But he ran out of luck on the fourth obstacle, where he fell. Female ninjas Megan Rowe and Abbey Steffl thrilled the audience with their strength and speed. However, none of the two could make it past the fourth obstacle.

Flip Rodriguez, an eleven-time veteran, also met the same fate by falling on the fifth obstacle. However, his timing might push him to the Semifinals. The next contestant Cal Plohoros became the first finisher of the night. Nathan Green and his twin brother Marquez individually made it to the fifth obstacle. The next ninja was Jackson Twait, whose speed carried him to the Mega Warped Wall, earning him an extra ten thousand dollars. Following the first two finishers, Jamie Rahn locked his spot as the third winner of the night.

As the night progressed, legends were birthed as Chris Behrends and Jesse LaBreck became two more ninjas who managed to hit the buzzer. Another ninja named Kyle Schulze always falls on the fifth obstacle every time he participates, and this time, too, he couldn’t beat his past records. The last ninja was Kai Beckstrand, winner of the first season of ‘American Ninja Warrior Junior.’ As expected, he completed the course in the fastest time. Kai’s father, Brian Beckstrand, also succeeded in finishing the course.
