How did Anthony Cumia earn his money and wealth?

Anthony Cumia was born on 26th April 1961 in Elwood, Town of Huntington, New York. He went to Elwood-John H. Glenn High School in Elwood. He was highly influenced by popular New York city personalities like Howard Stern and Don Imus. Cumia and his brother Joe decided to enter the O. J. Simpson song parody contest and recorded an entry as Rotgut titled “Gonna Electric Shock OJ” to the tune of “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding. The contest was held by radio personality Gregg “Opie” Hughes on his Nighttime Attitude show on Long Island radio station WBAB. The song was a hit with Hughes, he played it several times on his show and invited Cumia to perform it live on the show.

Cumia then began to contribute and produce comedy bits for Hughes and the stations morning show. In 1995, Hughes and Cumia decided to host their own radio show. Hughes produced a radio check and sent to several radio stations. In March 1995, Hughes and Cumia launched the Opie and Anthony show on WAAF in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1998, Cumia and Hughes were fired from the station for an April Fool Day prank.

The same year they began to host the Opie and Anthony show at WNEW in New York city afternoons. In two years, the show became a top 10-afternoon drive show. In 2001, the comedian Jim Norton joined the show as their co-host. By 2002, the Opie and Anthony show was aired on 17 stations nationwide. In 2002, the show was canceled. In 2004, the show came back on a subscription-based satellite radio service, XM Satellite Radio.

In 2012, Cumia launched Live from the Compound which he broadcasted from the studio he built in his home via Ustream. He retired the program in 2014. In 2014, Cumia launched The Anthony Cumia Show, “a live uncensored HD video podcast” which he broadcasted from his home studio. The show aired on his subscription-based network, Compound Media. The following year, Cumia expanded the network with new shows.

In 2017, Cumia launched his new show, The Artie and Anthony Show along with comedian and actor Artie Lange as co-host.
