Where to Stream Bad Moms?

‘Bad Moms’ is a 2016 American comedy movie with an ensemble cast. The film conveys a simple but very important message: mothers, despite all their responsibilities, are also women who deserve some time off and want to party. Upon release, the movie received praise for the performances of the cast members and for its unique treatment of the story, giving a welcome twist to the domestic comedy genre. ‘Bad Moms‘ also went on to inspire a sequel titled ‘A Bad Moms Christmas’, which came out in 2017. There are also spin-offs titled ‘Bad Dads’ and ‘Bad Moms’ Moms’. It is clear that the initial movie went down well with fans to warrant a sequel and two spin-offs. So naturally, now you must be wondering where you can stream and watch ‘Bad Moms’. We are here to tell you that, but first, let us walk you through the plot of the film.

What is Bad Moms About?

‘Bad Moms’ starts with the story of Amy Mitchell, a married woman living in the suburbs of Chicago. She has two kids, Jane and Dylan. Amy feels overworked and overcommitted. She works as a sales representative for a trendy coffee company. Apart from her job, she also makes her children healthy, hand-packed lunches, does most of their homework, goes to their extracurricular activities, and is active at the parent-teacher meetings, which are run by Gwendolyn James, who is rather domineering, and her friends Vicky and Stacy. Despite all this, she catches her husband cheating on her with a camgirl and kicks him out.

However, things soon begin to unravel for Amy, who quits the PTA after a stressful day, when she is faced with Gwendolyn’s overzealous bake sale plans. Heading to a bar, Amy meets Carla, a laid back and sexually active single mom. She also meets Kiki, a stay at home mother of four children who admires Amy for standing up to Gwendolyn. Amy and Carla are shocked when they realize that Kiki’s husband is extremely domineering and expects her to handle all the children and the household chores by herself without any assistance.

On the other hand, Amy and Kiki are shocked to discover Carla’s extremely hands-off approach to parenting. That being said, the three get to know each other better and go on an all-night bender that makes Amy reconsider her stance as she eases up on her children. She takes them for a ride in her husband’s car, gets them lunch outside. She also teaches the lazy and entitled Dylan to fend for herself, while taking the overworked Jane for a spa day. Amy also begins to date a handsome widower at school, who has had a crush on her.

Amy draws Gwendolyn’s ire at the bake sale, which she takes out on Jane, by getting her off the soccer team. In response, Amy decides to run for PTA president, to unseat the sanctimonious Gwendolyn. She organizes a party to help her in this quest but finds out that Gwendolyn has arranged for a rival party, catered to Martha Stewart. However, the guests soon realize that Gwendolyn plans on lecturing them all evening, so her party becomes a failure while Amy’s becomes a success. Gwendolyn is not one to give up, and places drugs in Jane’s locker, framing her.

Naturally, Jane is banned from all extracurricular activities and the kids go to live with their dad since they believe that the recent string of incidents proves Amy’s shortcomings as a mother. Amy also loses her job since her boss cannot understand why she keeps taking time off. On the day of the PTA election, Amy feels low and stays at home. However, her friends Kiki and Carla inspire her to rise to the occasion. It appears that Kiki has stood up to her domineering husband and told her to handle everything till the PTA meeting is over. At the meeting, Amy delivers an inspiring speech which highlights how all mothers are overworked and how they require time off and are allowed to make mistakes. She receives the support of most people there and wins by a landslide. When she confronts Gwendolyn after all this, it turns out that the latter is devastated and her life is not as perfect as she claims either.

A few weeks later, everything turns out to be perfect, as Amy’s influence can be seen in the way Carla and Kiki go about their lives. Amy’s kids learn from her as well, while Amy’s boss gives her back the job with better compensation. Even Gwendolyn seems to have taken a liking to Amy as all the mothers go out for a day of fun on her husband’s private jet.
