Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6 Episode 7 Recap
In the seventh episode titled ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling,’ the primary guest Athena flipped out over dinner being served around 3 minutes after she asked for it. This was followed by another series of demands that didn’t make much sense to the crew. However, we unexpectedly saw a shred of kindness in her when she complimented Mathew on his food. Courtney Veale was sad about switching cabins with Lexi Wilson on a pick-up day, but that was not the only problem.
David Pascoe has unrequited feelings for his boss Malia White, who perhaps let him drive the yacht out of its anchorage just to not hurt him any further. Athena’s next demand didn’t take long to come, and Mathew immediately buried his head in pastry making, although he wasn’t experienced in that field. He brought in Courtney, who couldn’t write “Happy Birthday” in a way that was expected, so they printed out the letters and attached them using sparklers.
It was not surprising to see Athena fret over the preparation even though the other guests enjoyed it. Realizing that she must’ve made a mistake, Sandy called Mathew back with a warning that this might be his last chance. After a stressful day, the group headed to Sibenik eatery Bronzin to calm down and relax. At the restaurant, they ended up discussing the systematic struggles they have all faced.
Mzi Dempers experienced racial discrimination on a daily basis, and Lloyd shared that his last captain had a reckless and disrespectful way of addressing people who belong to the LGBTQIA+ community. Even Lexi seemed to fit in for a while, following her apology to Malia. Furthermore, David expressed an interest in Malia, yet again. The highlight of the episode was Lloyd opening up to Katie about his traumatic homophobic experiences, sexuality, and coming out as a sexually fluid person.
