‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ is Bravo’s spinoff to ‘Below Deck’, which follows the lives of yachties aboard a superyacht, cruising the high seas. Across the five seasons that have aired over the years, ‘Mediterranean’ has featured several locations — including Greece, Croatia, France, Italy, and Spain. The concept of both the parent and sister shows remains the same – chronicle the ups and downs of the young, energetic crew as they tend to high-profile charter guests, deal with their own drama, and engage in steaming boat-mances. As a result, ‘Below Deck Med’ enjoys a massive fan-following just like the parent series. And now that its fifth edition has wrapped up, let’s check out the details of its sixth outing.
Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6 Release Date:
‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ season 5 premiered on June 1, 2020, on Bravo TV. It concluded with its two-part reunion, which wrapped up on October 26, 2020. Although Bravo has not officially renewed the show, it is only a matter of time before we get an update. ‘Mediterranean’ enjoys a huge social media following and hence, the network is expected to continue with future episodes. After all, it is one of Bravo’s flagship titles.
However, earlier reports had stated that the new season’s filming season might get delayed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. But again, in September 2020, ‘Below Deck’ alum Adrienne Gang pointed out that shooting for season 6 is already underway. She tweeted: “Bc of the charter guests filming on BDM right now in Croatia (& then posting it on their IG stories??♀️) we know that Sandy and Malia are on the next season of BDM. Bravo really missed the mark on this one. So very disappointed. ? Proof on the Below Deck @reddit #BelowDeckMed.”

As per the tweet, the sixth edition will be set in Croatia. Earlier, Captain Sandy Yawn had said in the Carolina Coffee Talk that the show will go on. She stated: “I’m sure they’re working very hard on it. I’m really not in that process. They include me just when it’s time to go film.” Since filming takes around six weeks and if season 6 has already commenced its shooting sessions, we can expect the series to stick to its annual summer release schedule. Assuming things move as per plan, ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ season 6 will most likely premiere sometime in June 2021.
Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6 Cast: Who Can be in it?
Season 5 takes place aboard The Wellington. We have Sandy Yawn as the captain, Hindrigo Lorran aka Kiko as the chef and Hannah Ferrier as the chief stewardess. Tom Checketts replaces Kiko as the chef in the midst of the season. Among the stews, we have Lara Flumiani, Christine Drake aka Bugsy, Aesha Scott, and Jessica More. While Malia White is the bosun, Peter Hunziker, Alex Radcliffe, and Robert Westergaard are the deckhands.
Apart from the departure of Kiko mid-season, season 5 sees several shake-ups in the cast. Following the exit of Hannah, Bugsy takes over as chief stew. Lara also departs from the yacht just after three episodes. Therefore, we do not expect any of the above crew members to return in season 6. The rest of the yachties should make a comeback. If there are any more changes, we will update this section.
