‘Better Call Saul‘ Season 5 is off to a good start. We always knew that the ghost of Saul Goodman would eventually haunt our protagonist, even though he takes the identity of Gene Takovic to avoid attention and live quietly in Omaha, after the disastrous association with Walter White.
The first episode sets up how Gene must go back to being Saul to fix a problem, when a cabbie who used to stay in Albuquerque, recognizes him. It juxtaposes this wonderfully with how Jimmy completes his transformation to a ‘criminal’ lawyer, that is, Saul Goodman. You can read our review of the season premiere here.

Better Call Saul Season 5 Episode 2 Spoilers:
Episode 2 of ‘Better Call Saul’ has been titled “50% Off”. Obviously, this refers to Jimmy or Saul’s promotional stunt, where he promises to slash 50% off the consultation fees, if anyone asks to be represented by him, as long as the felonies are non-violent. We will see this stunt having unintended consequences.
After all, quite a few people have taken Saul’s cards, and all of them seem to be walking on the wrong side of the law. Could one of them ultimately get Saul to create a link with the drug cartels? This might be something the upcoming episode explores.
We will also see Lalo, who seems to be rather smart and distrusting in nature. Nacho, who tried to eliminate Hector, has been on thin ice for too long. The episode will see him take some extreme measures to earn Lalo’s trust. Perhaps Nacho will try to fix the product problem that Lalo has been having with Gus. More likely, Nacho will try to get to the bottom of what Mike and Gus are building.
Saul’s success is sure to come, with so many clients looking for a lawyer to operate in the grey area. Although he is a hit in the courtroom, his relationship with Kim is bound to be burdened. Kim likes being an upright lawyer, and Saul’s antics may become too much eventually. Lastly, Mike loses his temper, while dealing with self-loathing and rage. We already know that Mike is capable of dangerous actions, but always keeps a lid on his emotions. It will be fascinating to find out, how Mike behaves when he loses his calm. Undoubtedly, it won’t be as fun for the people around him.
The upcoming episode promises to be thrilling, so be sure to follow us for the latest news and reviews of ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 5.
