Black Clover Spoilers:

In the city of Hage, a priest comes across two abandoned babies and decides to take them under his shelter. He later comes to know that their names are Yuno and Asta and decides to take care of the two boys. Fast forward 15 years, Asta starts liking Sister Lily and even after getting rejected several times, he keeps proposing her. Meanwhile, the other orphans around him poke fun at him because of his lack of magic. He even tries showing off but Yuno always manages to overshadow him with his own extraordinary magical abilities.

Later, the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony is held and as expected, Yuno attains a four-leaf clover while Asta gets nothing. This really hurts his ego and he even tries to challenge Yuno, but Yuno just ignores him. Right outside the tower where the ceremony was being held, Yuno gets ambushed by two nobles but he easily defeats them. That’s when a former Magic Knight named Revchi Salik appears and tries to steal Yuno’s grimoire from him. To defend his friend, Asta steps in but is easily overpowered by the Knight.

The Knight tries his best to completely break Asta’s spirit but his attacks further motivate him to get stronger and he finally unleashes his true strength. With this, he, too, acquires a five-leaf clover along with a large sword. As soon as he grabs this sword, a devil appears behind him and he is able to easily defeat Revchi Salik. With all the grave attacks that he receives, Revchi loses consciousness. This encounter marks the beginning of the journey of the two boys, who still seems to be far from their dream of becoming the Wizard King, but clearly have what it takes to be the ruling mage of their town.
