In episode 209, titled ‘The Outcast,’ Kawaki is haunted by the dream of Jigen and finds it hard to forget the horrors of their last encounter. Although Boruto is there to console him and try to instill confidence in him, the young ninja still remains a bit doubtful and unfriendly. However, Boruto is not ready to sit around and argues that he will use whatever time he has to work on himself. Amidst all the chaos, Kawaki strongly feels that people in the village don’t want him to stay there. Although he spends some time with Himawari and helps her make her peace with the death of a white-furred friend named Jaggy, ultimately, his feeling of unacceptance does not go away.

When he is about to leave, Shikamaru argues that he may be right about what the villagers feel about him, but at the end of the day, he is also now a member of the village. In episode 210, Boruto and Kawaki may find some crucial information about Kara and their future plans.
