What Is Bow Wow’s Net Worth?

Shad Gregory Moss, better known by his stage name Bow Wow or formerly as Lil’ Bow Wow, is a rapper, actor, television presenter, and broadcaster. Bow Wow became interested in rap music when he was just three years old, and by the time he turned 6, he was already recreationally rapping. Snoop Dogg noticed the Ohio native in 1993 after he performed a concert in Los Angeles, and subsequently gave him the stage name Lil’ Bow Wow, thus, giving him a push to start his career.

If you’re curious about Bow Wow’s career, earnings, and net worth, then you’ve come to the right place because we have all the details for you!

How Did Bow Wow Earn His Money?

When Bow Wow was eleven years old, in 1998, he met record producer Jermaine Dupri, who guided him and helped him shape his music career. Two years later, at the age of 13, Bow Wow released his debut album titled “Beware of Dog,” which became a massive hit, selling 2 million copies in a year and eventually earning a platinum status with more than 3 million copies in sales.

In 2002, Bow Wow released his second album “Doggy Bag” and dropped the Lil’ from his name. When he was asked why he changed his name, Bow Wow said that he did it not only because he was growing up now but also because he was getting annoyed with so many other rappers having the same prefix as him. After the success of his music career, he also began acting and featured in ‘Like Mike,’ a movie for which he also sang in the soundtrack.

His next few albums, “Unleashed,” “Wanted,” and “Prize of Fame,” were released in 2003, 2005, and 2006 respectively, and featured collaborations with artists like Omarion, Chris Brown, J-Kwon, Jermaine Dupri, and T-Pain. In 2007, Bow Wow released a collaborative album with Omarion called “Face-Off,” following which he released a few mixed tapes and his sixth album “New Jack City II.”

Although he has been featured on various tracks by other artists and has released several mixtapes over the years, he hasn’t released another album. He would continuously announce it, but then the release of it would be delayed, resulting in it never being released.

Apart from all this, Bow Wow has a career as an actor, TV personality and as a host as well. His most notable roles were in the movie ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’ and the shows ‘Smallville‘ and ‘Entourage.’ In 2013, Bow Wow became the host for BET’s short-lived show ‘106 and Park,’ following which he started hosting the Australian show ‘RnB Friday Nights.’ He is also one of the cast members of ‘Growing up Hip Hop: Atlanta.’

Although the only constant expense for him has been the $3000 monthly child support that he has to pay for his daughter Shai, he has had legal troubles recently when both he and his ex-girlfriend were charged after a public physical altercation.
