How did Brett Favre earn his money and wealth?
Brett Favre is a former football quarterback whose formal name is Brett Lorenzo Favre. He was born on October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi and grew up in Kiln. He played both football and baseball while at school and started playing for the Hancock North Central baseball team when he was in the eighth grade. His father, Irvin Favre was the head coach of the Hawks football team and Favre was coached by his father. He played lineman, quarterback, placekicker, strong safety and punter under his father’s guidance. After he finished his schooling, Favre received a football scholarship from Sothern Mississippi. He won in six out of ten games in his freshman year. Favre was involved in a near-fatal car accident on July 14, 1990. He was worried if he would ever play football again. After six weeks of the incident taking place, Favre led Southern Mississippi to a stunning comeback victory over Alabama University. The victory astounded everyone including the coach of Alabama who said that it was a miracle. The University of Southern Mississippi awarded Favre a teaching degree with an emphasis in special education.
Favre began his professional career in football by joining the Atlanta Falcons in 1991. The head coach of the Falcons was against his transfer and he managed to attempt only four passes during his time with the Atlanta Falcons. The following year, he was picked by Green Bay Packers whose manager Ron Wolf was instrumental in his transfer. Even after Favre was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, Ron Wolfe wanted him to continue to play for the Green Bay Packers.
He played for a record sixteen seasons with the Packers and led to many thrilling victories. He has the record for being the only NFL player to win three consecutive AP MVP awards. He led the Packers to win the Super Bowl XXXI. He won his first AP MVP award in 1995 and followed it up with the same award in 1996. Favre for his “Monday Night Football” won the ESPY Award in 2003. The “Minnesota Vikings” was the last team where Favre played before he retired in 2011.
Favre became addicted to Vicodin while he used to get treated for various injuries. He went into rehab for 46 days where he was treated for his addiction in May 1996.
Favre is married to Deanna Favre who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. She overcame the disease and has since started The Deanna Favre Hope Foundation.
