What is Car Masters: Rust to Riches about?
‘Car Masters: Rust to Riches’ is a series featuring ‘Gotham Garage’, a company owned by Mark Towle, who leads a colourful crew. They aim at overhauling an eclectic collection of cars so that they can trade their way up to a showstopper, which can be sold for huge money. As the name already suggests, ‘Car Masters: Rust to Riches’ describes how rusty wrecks can be turned into six-figure paydays, with a little bit of sweat equity and sheer car genius. Mark Towle and his whole crew is all set to demonstrate the same, which cannot be missed by car lovers.
Each episode of the series takes up one unique project. Season 1 of the series begins with the Gotham Garage crew, trying to modify a 1964 Ford Thunderbird into a bona fide ‘Rocket Car’ while changing the smart look of the car into monster-truck feel. The crew then concentrates on a disassembled 1970 Chevy C-10 Fleetside so that they can upgrade and trade it for a very expensive car body of 1939 Zephyr. The team also helps a friend at a discount, by upgrading a Volkswagen Bug hot-rod, where Mark gets overly creative with T-bucket overhaul.
On one hand, Constance takes over a vintage VW microbus, while on the other hand, Mark and Shawn get a sweet haul in a trade, and Caveman and Tony tag-team a 1956 Chevy truck. The crew gets some help from a hot-rod icon when Shawn struggles to find a potential buyer, after locating an unconventional option for the bus engine. Shawn tries to rein in Mark’s impulses when the crew aims to bring Hot Wheels dreams to reality so that they can trade for a rare Lincoln Futura replica.
While all the team members are busy racing to beat the clock in pursuit of a six-figure car, Mark gets some meaningful memories by the quest for a shop truck. In the final episode of season one, the crew hustles to finish its ambitious upgrade of a Futura from 1955 in time for a big auto show, as the Gotham Garage may finally have landed its car of six-figures.
Season 2, when it premieres, will cover more fascinating stories of overhauling of vintage cars.
