Chance the Rapper, real name Chancellor Jonathan Bennett, was born on 16 April 1993 in Chicago, Illinois to Ken Williams Bennett and Lisa Bennett. He attended Jones College Prep High School, where he was a member of the group Jewish Student Union. In his school days, Chance did not score good grades and was often suspended.
