How did Chinx Drugz earn his money and wealth?
Born as Lionel Pickens on the 4th of December in 1983, Chinx Drugz was an American hip hop recording artist from Queens in the city of New York. He was born and raised in Far Rockaway and lived in both Redfern Houses and Edgemere Houses. Chinx is reported to have started rapping while he was in high school by drumming on the table till his ninth grade when he started taking music seriously. He is said to have got his stage name Chinx Drugz due to his addiction to smoking weeds during his teenage days. Himself and his school friend Stack Bundles together formed the band Riot Squad along with local rappers Bynoe and Cau2Gs.
He then went on to join French Montana’s Coke Boys Records. It was in 2009 that Chinx Drugz released his first solo mixtape, Hurry Up & Die Vol. 1: Get Ya Casket On followed by Hurry Up & Die Vol. 2: From The Cage To The Stage in the January of 2010 and then his third mixtape in that series Hurry Up & Die Vol. 3 in the of 2010.
In the year 2011, Drugz came out with his fourth official mixtape Flight 2011 produced by Harry Fraud. French Montana also made a special appearance in the tape. The same year, Chinx presented his fifth solo mixtape Cocaine Riot to the world in which many members of the Coke Boys participated. The first ever official collaboration mixtape of the Coke Boys, Coke Boys 2 hit the shelves in the August of 2011 and was produced partially by Harry Fraud and completed by Lex Luger and featured Drugz, Montana, Cheeze, Flip and Charlie Rock. Their second collaboration mixtape, Coke Boys 3 was released in 2012 and featured appearances by Akon, Rick Ross, and many others. This mixtape gained much reputation from the critics.
The sixth solo mixtape of Drugz, Cocaine Riot 2 came out in 2012 to a positive critical reception. In 2013, the official remix to I’m a Coke Boy was released and it featured Rick Ross, French Montana and few other rappers. This remix went on to top at the 43rd position on the Complex’s list of the 50 best songs of 2013.
Chinx Drugz passed away on the 17th of May in 2015 at his age of 31 due to wounds from a gunshot. His albums Welcome to JFK and Legends Never Die were released posthumously.
