Not many shows manage to stay true to their genre throughout their run. However, Fox’s ‘Deputy’ is still going strong as a Modern-Day Western cop drama. Starring Stephen Dorff as Acting Deputy Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman, the show brings the fundamental problem of every other police department to the surface – Racism, Corruption and Police Politics. The burning question, however, is: Can Bill survive the excessive bureaucracy or get his own palms greased?
It has been created by Will Beall and David Ayer. Season 1 debuted on January 2, 2020. So far, we have seen Bill’s strong intransigence to taint his conscience, even in the face of adversities. He breaks the rules, doesn’t go by the books but still manages to put the criminals where they belong – behind prison bars. While a vulnerable side of him tries really hard to keep his wife Paula and daughter Maggie out of trouble.
Episode 8, which released on February 20, 2020, doesn’t make things easy for Bill as he gets further embroiled in the problems, which are a consequence of his position in the department.
