How did DMX earn his money and wealth?

Hailing from Mount Vernon, New York, DMX also known as Earl Simmons was born on 18th December 1970. Simmons went through a rough and abused children and was even abandoned by his parents leading to frequent arrests and growing up in group houses. He was brought up in the Jehova’s Witness Faith. DMX got a kick-start to his career after the praise from Gabriel Grevenstuk of The Source magazine in 1991. Before signing with record label Ruffhouse, a subsidiary of Columbia Records, Unstoppable Force and Three Little Pig were first demos recorded by DMX.He released his first single “Born Loser” under the label.

His single “Party Up”, became his first Top Ten hit on the R&B charts which was the most popular single from the album. His fourth album “The Great Depression” featuring his hit singles “Where Tha Hood At” and “Get it on the Floor” was his fourth consecutive album which debuted as number one on Billboard and was certified triple platinum.

DMX has had an illustrious with over 70 million copies sold. In the year 2000 and year 2001, he won American Music AwardsFavorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist. He also has nominations for Grammy Awards and MTV Music Video Awards. Along with his autobiography “E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX” released in 2002, he also has eight films as an actor under his belt. Despite of such career, DMX has not been new to controversies and legal issues surrounding him. From the illegal possession of weapons and drugs to animal cruelty and drug abuse, he has always been involved in them. He even filed for bankruptcy three times since 2009.
