Evil Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

The second episode of ‘Evil’ season 2 revolves around blue-collar worker Raymond Strand suspected to be linked to an angel, a rarity in this bleak world bustling with evil spirits. Unlike the positivity usually associated with angels, Raymond’s case is more of a spiritual reckoning meant to redirect him on the right path. His pregnant wife Ashley reveals that her husband spends hours obsessively painting the Archangel Michael, the spirit who is presumably in touch with him.

Raymond has been told to give up all earthly possessions to the poor and dedicate his life to charity. Now, he is about to donate his house to the underprivileged without considering the future of his unborn child. Things worsen further when Raymond stops his car on the road and swoops in to save a family stuck in a burning car. But he waits one whole minute before rescuing the man whose life was slowly ebbing away in those violent flames. When asked, he reveals that the man had supposedly abused his wife, which is why God wanted him to suffer limitless pain.

Later, it is presumed that Raymond’s delusions might have been caused due to an overdose of scopolamine patch used to deal with vertigo. Elsewhere, a new detective has acquired the Orson LeRoux murder investigation as Mira pulls out. Kristen is notified about LeRoux’s wife, who has been cleared of all blame, much to Kristen’s relief. However, at some point, she almost blows her cover in front of Ben and David when they discuss the moral implications of murder. Ben thinks something is up with her.
