Evil Season 2 Episode 4 Recap
In the fourth episode titled ‘E is for Elevator,’ the team investigates the disappearance of a teen named Wyatt. He has been missing for months, and the only clue his parents have is a giant pentagram spray-painted on the floor under his rug and the words “el game” on his desk. The clues lead the team to an elevator game, an urban legend, that requires the player to follow a set of instructions inside the elevator, and anyone who fails to do so would be haunted for the rest of their life.
Ben and Kristen find a kid claiming to be Wyatt’s girlfriend, Felicia’s best friend. Felicia goes missing, too, but only after leaving behind a recording of her screaming and fading away. Ben contacts Vanessa, who informs him about a ghost-girl trapped in the elevator. Shortly after, Kristen is stuck between the 12th and 14th floors, where she encounters the spirit Vanessa mentioned. Just as it is about to attack her, Kristen makes it out.
Kristen immediately calls her therapist to complain about the ineffectiveness of the anti-hallucination meds she was prescribed. Ben is the second one to try the game, and he is paranormally transported to a zone where he spots Wyatt and Felicia’s dead bodies. Thoroughly convinced that his death is approaching, Ben lies on his back and starts praying in Arabic. Just as he is about to die, Kristen and David figure out the buttons on the elevator and pull him out.
Elsewhere, David is selected as Leland’s spiritual counselor, but the latter does not let him thrive in peace. He tries to lure David into discarding priesthood, and sure enough, we learn that his past is laden with instances where he has had mixed feelings about his profession. Later, David gets invited to a holy gathering where he loses his calm and lands a hard punch on someone attacking his faith. Before leaving, a Black minister at a Gospel church introduces him to a faith slightly different from the Catholics.
