Fabolous is a rapper and hip-hop artist whose formal name is John David Jackson and is of Dominican and African American descent. He was born on November 18, 1977, and grew up in Brooklyn, New York City. He started rapping since his high school days and was invited by DJ Clue to rap live on the radio station Hot 97. DJ Clue is a music executive and record producer. Fabolous was featured in many mixtapes made by DJ Clue who also signed him in his record label, Desert Storm Records.

Fabolous released his debut album “Ghetto Fabolous” (2001) which peaked at number 4 in the Billboard 200. The album included hit singles “Can’t Deny It”, “Young’n (Holla Back)”, and “Trade It All”. The album sold more than 143,000 copies within the first week of its release. His second album “Street Dreams” (2003) featured Jagged Edges in “Trade It All Pt. 2”. He released a mixtape in 2003 and titled it “More Street Dreams, Pt. 2: The Mixtape”. He released “Real Talk” (2004) which debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 charts. He released his next album “Loso’s Way” in 2009 and followed it up with “The Soul Tape 2” in 2011. His latest album titled “Friday on Elm Street” was released in 2017.

Fabolous has collaborated with other artists such as Young Jeezy in “Diamonds” (2007), Swizz Beatz in “Return of the Hustle” and NeYo in “Make Me Better”. Fabolous was nominated for a Grammy Nomination for the single “Dip It Low” which was remixed by Christina Milian. In 2009, he was selected as the 8th Hottest MC in the Game by MTV. Fabolous has won many nominations and has won the Top Rap Song at the AMA in 2008 for “Make Me Better” and the Viewer’s Choice Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2009 for “Throw It in the Bag” which he sang with The-Dream.

Fabolous is not married but has a girlfriend named Emily Bustamante. They have two sons. He was arrested on domestic violence charges after he assaulted his partner, Emily.
