‘Good Witch’, the fantasy comedy-drama, based on the eponymous tv film, has become a staple on Hallmark. The preceding movie, when it first dropped in 2008, became such a huge hit that it has spawned six sequels until now. Eventually, Hallmark decided to create a full-fledged show, based on its characters. The series, which landed on the network in 2015, follows Cassie and the residents of Middleton, and their multiple misadventures. Season 6 has just finished airing but fans already want to know if there will be a ‘Good Witch’ season 7. Read on for some detailed insights.
Good Witch Season 7 Release Date:
‘Good Witch’ Season 6 premiered on May 3, 2020, on Hallmark. It wrapped up with its 10th episode on July 5, 2020. As of now, the channel has not given any updates on the show’s fate. But it did remark that the season started off with impressive ratings. The premiere was the week’s no. 1 scripted series on cable. The episodes averaged around 1.8 million viewers, which is almost at par when compared to the show’s previous outings.
Since Hallmark announced season 6’s renewal in the midst of season 5, fans are a bit skeptical as the network is quiet about the next edition until now. But this might be due to the ongoing pandemic and the producers are simply waiting it out. A similar case also happened with ‘When Calls the Heart’, which was eventually given a go-ahead on the date of the preceding season’s finale’s release. Therefore, we expect some news in the next few weeks. If things move as per plan, ‘Good Witch’ Season 7 should premiere sometime in May 2021 (considering the fact that the show follows an annual release schedule).
Good Witch Season 7 Cast: Who Can be in it?
Catherine Bell leads the cast as Cassie, who owns Bell, Book & Candle, and Grey House. Cassie has psychic powers and also knows magic, which she uses in times of need. When Sam Radford arrives in Middletown, Cassie befriends him and also attempts to move on from Jake by developing a relationship with Ryan Elliot. Eventually, she gets closer to Sam instead and after getting engaged, the couple ties the knot. Bailee Madison had starred as Grace Russell from seasons 1 to 5. Grace is Cassie’s teen daughter who gets involved with Nick’s friend Noah and then, starts a romantic relationship with Luke, following her split with Noah.
James Denton essays the role of Dr. Sam Radford, Cassie’s husband; and Rhys Matthew Bond stars as Nick Radford, Sam’s teenage son. Across the seasons, Nick evolves into a mature guy who understands that his passion lies in designing games. Sarah Power plays Abigail Pershing, Cassie’s cousin with magical powers; Catherine Disher enacts the character of Martha Tinsdale, Middleton’s Mayor; and Kylee Evans stars as Stephanie Borden.
In season 5, Marc Bendavid plays Donovan Davenport; Scott Cavalheiro enacts Adam Hawkins; and Gianpaolo Venuta stars as Vincent. In season 6 Katherine Barrell joins the lead cast as Joy, a new arrival in Middletown. Season 7 is expected to see the entire main cast reprising their original characters.
