Gossip Girl Episode 3 Recap
‘Lies Wide Shut’ is the title of ‘Gossip Girl’ episode 3, which opens with Julien trying to move on from her breakup with Obie. She tries to find a new boyfriend who matches her status but does not like any of the guys she meets. Max convinces Julien to join him for a wild night out so that she can move on. Meanwhile, the teachers at the Constance Billard and Saint Judes come under intense scrutiny because of Gossip Girl. The school administration is hell-bent on curbing the anonymous blogger’s activities.
Zoya is having a tough time at school as being Obie’s girlfriend brings her under the social media microscope. Meanwhile, Obie meets Zoya’s dad and impresses him. Zoya’s dad allows her to go out on a date with Obie. On their night out, Julien and Max both learn that their fathers have been keeping a secret from them. Julien’s father has been discreetly meeting a woman for over a year, while Max’s dad is trying to use a dating app to cheat on his husband.
As the pressure from the school administration mounts, Kate and the other teachers decide to find a scapegoat to save themselves from getting caught. They trick Reema, one of the teachers in their inner circle, into making a post, which results in her getting fired. Realizing that Julien has stopped caring about her social media presence, Luna tries to train Zoya to replace Julien. Zoya agrees as she is fed up with the constant online mocking aimed at her. Audrey and Aki both hide that they cheated on each other with Max.
All the conflicts culminate at a Broadway play. Julien exposes her father’s lies, while Max exposes his dad’s intention to cheat. A distraught Max ends up revealing that Aki and Audrey cheated on each other. Zoya decides to be herself and does not follow Luna’s advice. Julien receives some closure from Obie after Zoya helps him realize that he is responsible for the breakup as much as Julien. Audrey and Aki decide to continue their relationship. The episode ends with Luna telling Monet that she has some intel on Zoya.
