Upon its premiere in March 2019, ‘Hanna’ received the stamp of approval from the critics as well as the audiences for not only retaining the essence of the eponymous 2011 Joe Wright film it is based on but also taking the thrill factor up a notch. Created by David Farr, the action drama series revolves around the adventures of Hanna, who is on a path to find her true identity, while preventing herself from falling into the clutches of the CIA.
The show was lauded for its gripping action scenes, intense drama, visual setting, and compelling performances from the main cast, thus, paving the way for it to spawn two seasons. After binge-watching season 2, fans must be wondering: Will there be a ‘Hanna’ season 3? Well, here’s everything we know.
Hanna Season 3 Release Date
‘Hanna’ season 2 dropped in its entirety on July 3, 2020, on Prime Video. It consists of eight episodes with a runtime of 47–55 minutes each.
As far as another season is concerned, here’s what we know. Although Amazon is yet to announce the show’s cancellation or renewal, the season 2 finale leaves ample room for a potential season 3. Also, if we go by the reviews of the second season, the viewers have praised the thriller for its cinematic aesthetic, character development, intense action sequences, and multiple twists with regards to allegiances. Considering everything, it is quite likely that Amazon will renew the series for a third season. Whenever that happens, we can expect ‘Hanna’ season 3 to release sometime in 2022, on Prime Video.
Hanna Season 3 Cast: Who is in it?
Almost all the members from the main cast of season 2 might reprise their respective characters in season 3. Esme Creed-Miles will undoubtedly return to portray the character of Hanna, a trained teenage assassin. Mireille Enos will reappear as Marissa Wiegler, the CIA agent with shifting motivations.
The other returning members can include Dermot Mulroney as John Carmichael, Yasmin Monet Prince as Clara Mahan, Cherrelle Skeete as Terri Miller, Áine Rose Daly as Sandy, Gianna Kiehl as Jules, Khalid Abdalla as Jerome Sawyer, Andy Nyman as Jacobs, Benno Fürmann as Dieter, and Angela Sari as Kat Gelder, among others.
Hanna Season 3 Plot: What can it be About?
In the finale of season 2, as Clara, Hanna and Kat are hiding in a swanky mansion, Kat and Clara inform Hanna about a mysterious briefcase that someone took from Robert’s possession. Clara gets emotional after finally receiving an email from her mother. Hannah arrives at the hotel and threatens a man to hand over the briefcase to her. Marissa approaches Hanna with a woman she claims to be an ally, but Hanna reveals that she is instead a spy, working for John.
As Clara realizes their hideout has been ambushed and Leo is behind Kat, she pushes Leo to the pool. John aims at Clara but the bullet hits Leo, killing him. Hanna rushes to their rescue and takes down John’s spy, before putting a bullet in John’s shoulder. Marissa and Hanna share the target list and the CIA agent threatens John to side with her on her next mission or risk exposing his wrongdoings to his boss. Meanwhile, Clara gets emotional as she bids farewell to Hanna and leaves to meet her mother in Morocco.
Season 3 will pick right after the ending of the second season, where Hanna asks Marissa, “What now?” Their last exchange indicates that Marissa and Hanna might band together to take down The Pioneer Group and probably free the remaining girls from The Meadows. Now that Marissa has an upper hand over John, she might persuade him to assist her in defeating his boss. Although Clara and Hanna have parted ways, there is a high chance that their paths will cross again in the future. Considering her gesture of deleting the email from Clara’s mother, we can expect Terri to emerge as the secondary antagonist of the third season.
