High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2 Episode 10 Recap
The tenth episode is titled ‘The Transformation.’ It starts with the group getting back for rehearsal practices, and Ricky begins to struggle with one of the final scenes of the musical. Someone informs Miss Jenn about North High gaining full access to the technical layout of the Broadway version. She immediately breaks down, and the kids subsequently decide to boost their prop department. Kourtney drags the girls to a costume-making session, and the boys gather at Big Red’s to create a sleek rotating chair that could enhance Ricky’s performance as the beast.
But Kourtney later grabs hold of the actual blueprints from Howie, which solves the problem. During a conversation among the girls, Gina accidentally reveals that Ricky had sent her chocolates on one particular occasion of Valentine’s day long back. On the one hand, Nini seems disturbed at the idea of Ricky having feelings for another girl while Ricky listens to EJ open up about his past with Nini. Although he has moved on, he doesn’t want to get hurt again. Yet he is terribly into Gina, and later, during practice, he asks her out on a date.
Elsewhere, Seb is insecure about Carlos’ recent vacation trip where he had met a group of handsome young men. Moreover, their collective social ineptness prevents both of them from telling each other how they truly feel. Carlos, however, takes the first step and, with a little push from Ricky, writes a song delineating his feelings for Seb. The kids finally put the finishing touches to the stage, and Ricky wears a suspension as a part of the new setup. But he only survives a few seconds in the air as the rope gives out, and he collapses on the floor.
