House of Payne Season 10 Episode 8 Recap

The eighth episode of ‘House of Payne’ season 10 is titled ‘Karen.’ In the episode, Calvin is falsely accused of stealing car tags by a White woman, and as soon as he reaches home, he narrates the entire story to Ella and Floyd. He states that he bumped into Karen, a name that he uses instead of her real identity. The incident finds its way into social media, and very soon, Calvin’s feed is crowded with hate comments. He even gets suspended from work which makes him act out in anger. He then takes a picture of Karen in front of her house and posts it along with a caption containing the names of all the Black men she has ever targeted.

Calvin’s story gets a lot of attention and even comes to the notice of Lafayette Banks, a strong candidate running for City Council. If he wins the election, he resolves to fight for all the Black men who’ve been victims of racism. The man also turns out to be acquainted with C.J., who charges into the room asking Malik and Lisa if they want to run an advertisement campaign for his cause. Lisa immediately jumps at the idea of appearing on TV, whereas Malik is skeptical about getting involved in politics. He later runs a background check that reveals undesirable facts about Lafayette, although they end up being false in the end.

Moreover, the powerful statement made by the politician on TV convinces Malik to root for him and become more active in politics. Elsewhere, Ella is mad at Calvin for thoughtlessly exposing Karen’s home to the media, after which a group of teenagers vandalizes her area. He ultimately realizes his mistake and records a video, where he expresses his opinion on the incident before posting it online instead of berating the woman for framing him.
