iCarly Reboot Episode 5 Recap

The fifth episode is titled ‘iRobot Wedding.’ In the episode, Carly’s arch-nemesis Nevel Papperman returns to push her buttons, much to the surprise of fans. To jog your memory, Nevel was harsh to Carly during their school years, and an invitation letter to his robot-themed wedding does not compensate for all the bad memories he caused. Instead, she is hellbent on seeking revenge by sabotaging his wedding and proving that his bride-to-be is not actually human. If she succeeds, Nevel will fail to inherit his grandfather’s possessions after his death.

At the rehearsal dinner, Millicent tries to stop Freddie from getting his heart broken. The hopeless romantic tries to impress a woman he meets at the venue, but a precocious Millicent knows that he is setting himself up for emotional wreckage. In the process, Freddie reveals that he was married for a period of 14 months before his marriage fell apart. As a temporary solution to all his problems, he resorted to gambling, and now he is in irreversible debt.

Elsewhere, Harper and Spencer challenge each other to see who can score more phone numbers from wedding guests, and as expected, Harper wins. But at some point, she also gives away her number to Spencer, hinting that they might grow closer in the coming episodes. As the night comes to a close, Freddie asks his old flame Carly for a dance, and in those brief moments, they glean comfort from each other’s presence just like old times.
