Will There be an In My Skin Season 2?

Imagine this dilemma: you are in high school, you are not popular neither glamorous and nor are you an incredible academic performer. The only thing you are good at is ‘pretense’. Well, this is the story of 16-year-old Bethan — a girl from a tragic background, which she tries to conceal by her impeccable skill at lying! And ‘In My Skin’ narrates her journey in a comic undertone.

This British coming-of-age comedy, which is a reflection of teenage angst, anxiety, and insecurities progressed to be a massive hit, winning multiple awards. Eventually, it was picked up by Hulu and even the US-based fans loved the show. After its brief run, we are seriously curious to know how the story will progress from here. Well, let’s get started.

In My Skin Season 2 Release Date:

‘In My Skin’ season 1 premiered on July 30, 2020, on Hulu. It consisted of five 30-minute episodes. Prior to its US release, it aired its pilot on BBC Three in the UK on October 14, 2018, followed by the rest of the episodes on March 29, 2020.

‘In My Skin’ surpassed expectations when it dropped in both the UK and US. If you have watched the show, you will know that season 1 just sets the base of the story. There’s huge scope for the characters to evolve further. Both in terms of ratings and content, the comedy holds strong potential to span multiple seasons. Therefore, we expect an update on a renewal in the coming months. Whenever that happens, we can expect ‘In My Skin’ season 2 to premiere sometime in early 2021.

In My Skin Season 2 Cast: Who Can be in it?

Gabrielle Creevy leads the cast as Bethan, a 16-year-old high schooler, coming from a troubled home. Bethan tries her best to conceal her tragic background from her peers and teachers at school. She lies her way out of situations in order to avoid disclosing her true self. At the end of season 1, Bethan participates for the head girl campaign, and surprisingly bags a win. This makes Poppy (Zadeia Campbell-Davies) unhappy but she pretends to support Bethan.

Joining Creevy is James Wilbraham as Travis and Poppy Lee Friar as Lydia. Both Travis and Lydia are best friends with Bethan. Bethan’s mother, Katrina, who suffers from bipolar, is played by Jo Hartley. Bethan’s alcoholic father Dilwyn is enacted by Rhodri Meilir. Since Dilwyn and Katrina are unfit to manage the house, the entire responsibility falls on Bethan’s fragile shoulders.

Rounding up the lead cast is Aled ap Steffan as Stan Priest, a student in school who bullies Bethan. Since the show comprises a few characters, with all of them being important for the story to continue, the entire main cast will make a comeback in season 2.
