Preview: Isekai Quartet S02 E11

Fan service is great but another guilty pleasure that most anime fans seem to have is obsessing over crossovers. As irrelevant as these may seem, especially in the shounen genre, we just can’t get enough of these. ‘Isekai Quartet’ is one of the best anime crossovers you’ll ever come across as it brings together all of your beloved Isekai characters together in a common high school setup. What follows is a series of gags and ridiculous jokes.

Not to mention, its episodes only last for 10 minutes, so you can simply watch it whenever you want. In the 10th episode, ‘Isekai Quartet’ introduced its own flavor of the “School Festival” arc which can be seen in many other high school anime (presently in ‘My Hero Academia‘ as well). With a lot more of this arc in store for us, a new 10-minute short will be coming out next week. So to know more about this upcoming episode, read on ahead.

Isekai Quartet Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

The 10th episode of Season 2 opens with a scene in which Roswaal informs the class about an upcoming school festival. To further hype the students, he even tells them that if they put in enough effort, they’ll be later rewarded. To this, Ainz points out that he said the same for field day but never really rewarded them with anything. Weiss and Viktoriya start setting up a food stall for the festival and Weiss really looks forward to all the chocolates she’ll be able to eat during this.

In the meantime, as decided in the previous episode, the students of the class decide to do a play on Fairy Tales. In order to have a fair distribution of roles, they do a lucky with which Ram gets to play Cindrella, Rem gets the role of the Prince who tries to find Cindrella, Aqua gets to be the Cindrella’s fairy Godmother, Darkness gets the part of her stepsister, and Ainz, Tanya, Kazuma, and Subaru get to play the role of horses who will pull the pumpkin carriage. But knowing that Ainz is somewhat of a god in her world, Shalltear gets really mad when she gets to know that Ainz is going to be a horse.

Naofumi, too, expresses his anger when he realizes that he’ll be playing the role of the ugly duckling. But when Shalltear tries to make fun of him by asking him to quack, he gets back at her by claiming that she should ask Ainz to neigh like a horse. Later when they head out, they discover that an arch they had earlier built for setting up their shop, has been completely destroyed. One look at it and Aqua begins to crying, lamenting over the fact that won’t be able to build it in time now. Rem tries to make her feel a little better by telling her that they’ll try again and somehow rebuild it in time. In the closing scenes, the teachers of the school discuss how they won’t stop testing the students despite all the dangers that come with it.
