Kevin Can Wait is an American sitcom whose first season aired on September 19, 2016. Season 1 of the series Kevin Can Wait received a mixed response on its release and marked Kevin James’ second starring role in a CBS sitcom. CBS then renewed the second season on March 23, 2017 and aired the second series on September 25, 2017, and ended the series on May 7, 2018. The series is created and developed by Kevin James, Bruce Helford, and Rock Reuben. It is directed by Andy Fickman. It has 48 episodes including both the seasons.
Kevin Can Wait is the story of every man who bogged down by the pressures of living decides to put his dreams on hold indefinitely. Kevin Can Wait Season 2 Plot: What’s it about?
Kevin Can Wait is about Kevin Gable (played by Kevin James), a retired police officer and a family man, who is a father of three. Kevin is married to Donna (Erinn Hayes). In season one, he retires and plans to hang out with his retired friends. He learns that his pension paycheck won’t fulfill his family routines and needs, and his plans will have to be put on hold. His elder daughter, Sara who is dealing with her anger management issues moves into town with her unemployed fiancé and son jack who has to see the school therapist for anxiety issues. Kevin has to do odd jobs in order to manage his first daughter Kendra and Chale’s (her fiancé) wedding. In season 2, Kevin’s wife Donna is no more, and Kevin is now a widowed father with three kids. He has a full-time job in their new security company, Monkey Fist Security, still waiting to realize his post-retirement plans.

The main cast includes Kevin James as Kevin Gable, a retired cope who manages his family and his kids’ responsibility without a job. Erinn Hayes as Donna Gable who is a responsible mother and a great wife. She works as a school nurse. She succumbs to her death in season 2. Taylor Spreitlercomes in as Kendra Gable, the eldest daughter of Kevin. Ryan Cartwittstars as Chale Witt, who is the fiancé of Kendra Gable. There is Mary Charles Jones as Sara Gable, the second daughter of Kevin Gable, James DiGiacomo as Jack Gable who is the son of Kevin Gable; Jack is dealing with anxiety issues. Kevin Can Wait Season 2 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?
The response for the first season was negative from the critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 30% rating; 3.9 out of 10 based on 23 reviews. The site’s critics read, “Kevin James proves a likable, funny lead, but Kevin Can Wait relies too heavily on predictable, unfunny jokes and a series of lackluster subplots to stand out from the crowd.” The Metacritic gave it a score of 39 out of 100. Even season 2 of the series received negative reviews from critics. As a result, the channel officially canceled Kevin can Wait after season 2 on May 12, 2018. The actors were praised for their respective roles but the story and execution had no charm, and unfortunately had to be called off-air. So that is the news for fans who were following Kevin Can Wait. There won’t be another season in the series.
