Kong: King of Apes Cast: Who’s in it?
Needless to say, the main character of the series is Kong. He is voiced by Lee Tockar, a Canadian voice artist and writer of children literature. He is best known for his work as George, in ‘George of the Jungle’ and ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’. Tockar has done an impeccable job as he has brought out the childlike character of the giant looking Kong amazingly.
Alessandro Juliani and Giles Panton voice Lukas Remy, the second lead of the show. Tabitha St. Germain has voiced for Francisca, an integral part of Lukas’ team, and also for Anita, the Spanish housekeeper in the Remy family. Doug Jones, Lukas’ best friend is voiced by Vic Leacock and the siblings Amy and Dany Quon are voiced by Shanon Chan-Kent and Vincent Tong respectively. Chatter is an aptly named talkative parrot with bionic wing, voiced by Alessandro Juliani, and later by Vincent Tong.
The main antagonist of the show is Richard Remy, the evil twin of Lukas Remy, voiced by Samuel Vincent. Following him is Botila, Richard’s assistant, voiced by Kathleen Barr. Apart from them, the side antagonists are Richie, Richard’s first robotic creation and the Bionobots, Richard’s army.
The recurring cast of the show includes Lukas’ father Leo Remy, the mother and son duo Lady and Lucky Liger, police officer Decker, Zippi, a baby dinosaur, and Apex, leader of a clan of Apes.
For the Kong: King of Apes season 3, we can expect the main cast to return with their original roles once again on the screen, while we may see some new additions in the cast of antagonists. Looking at the transition of the show from season 1 to season 2, we expect some names from the recurring list of characters to be dropped.
Kong: King of Apes Plot: What is it about?
As soon as we talk about fictional giant monsters, we get all ears in the anticipation for some high-end adventure. From fictional monsters like Godzilla to extinct species like dinosaurs, we love watching larger than life creatures on the screen playing bad and sometimes friendly roles.
While we like to believe ‘King Kong’ that premiered in 1933 as the first-ever giant monster movie, the particular genre was developed a little later. It was when Ray Bradbury published his short story ‘The Fog Horn’ in a US newspaper in 1951. It grabbed the attention of many filmmakers, which ultimately resulted in the making of ‘The Beast From 20,000 Fathom’, a science fiction monster movie from Warner Bros. The story-line featured a giant and monstrous dinosaur on its quest to destroy the New York City. The special-effects by Ray Harryhausen were commendable and the movie resulted in the formation of monster movie genre.
The King Kong franchise created multiple remakes, crossovers, and sequels after the success of the initial movie. Those movies included names like ‘The Son of Kong’, ‘King Kong Escapes’, ‘King Kong Lives’, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘, and a lot more. The first TV series featuring King Kong premiered from 1966 to 1969 under the name The King Kong Show, released by ABC Network. It was not until recently that Netflix saw the opportunity and decided to carry forward the legacy of King Kong by introducing it again in the series ‘Kong: King of Apes’.
The story-line of the series is set 30 years from now. In 2050, Kong and his friends try to save the world from various dangerous elements of threat but most importantly, from the mad scientist who’s on the quest to rule slash destroy the world.
The premise of the series features Kong Island, where unique and regular species both live in harmony. Though, their peace is constantly disrupted when Richard and Botila try to assert their madness to gain supremacy. The story arcs of the show are regularly evolved as we find revelations of new truths, the discovery of new clans, animals, and species.
In Kong: King of Apes season 3, we expect to see new chronicles of Kong and his friend filled with adventure and some new twists and turns.
Kong: King of Apes Season 3 Release Date: When will it premiere?
King of Apes season 2 premiered on May 4, 2018 on Netflix.
The last season of the show gained a mixed response from the audience as some of the fans found the story to be predictable and repetitive. While there is no official update on the renewal of Kong: King of Apes season 3, the audience is waiting for the series to return with a better and more engaging plot.
We are hoping the new season to air on Netflix sometime in 2020.
