Kyokou Suiri Episode 9 Recap

As the rumors surrounding Steel Lady Nanase get worse, Kuro, Saki, and Kotoko try to find a way to stop her. While Kuro spends the entire night battling her, Saki and Kotoko watch him from a distance and try to deduce a fake yet believable story that would dwindle all the rumors surrounding Nanase. Kotoko publishes a story online which claims that Steel Lady Nanase did not murder the inspector, instead, it was one of his female coworkers who attacked him. She even cooks up a pretty convincing story. When the online community confronts her with questions surrounding this, she somehow manages to give a logical explanation for all of them.

However, this, too, does not work out the way they had initially planned as Kuro’s sister keeps killing herself to alter the future and with this, she is also able to control the minds of all the people who believe that Steel Lady Nanase is real. In the meantime, while fighting Nanase and trying to hold her down, Kuro gets killed several times but he keeps getting back up. In the end, there isn’t much they’re able to do about the rumors as Kuro’s sister keeps altering the future to revive the rumors all over again. However, what they are able to do is convince a few people out there that Nanase is nothing but their own manifestation.

In the last few episodes of the season, Kotoko will have to either come up with a very convincing story to make more people believe that Nanase does not actually exist or she’ll simply have to find a way to directly stop Kuro’s sister. For now, she has just scratched the surface by first addressing the inspector’s murder, but she’ll have to dig even deeper and form an even more convincing lie just to make others believe that Nanase does not really exist. What makes things worse for them is the fact that some people have actually seen Nanase and that affirms them she very well exists. Convincing these people would be close to impossible. So what is it that Kotoko will be able to do to prove that Nanase’s everyone’s imagination? Hopefully, we’ll find that out by the end of this season.
