Kyokou Suiri Episode 10 Recap

The story continues and so do all the rumors surrounding Nanase’s ghost. While Kuro fights her, Kotoko tries to cook up new stories about her origins to convince people that Nanase means no harm. She starts off by claiming that before Nanase died, she was accused of her father’s murder. But this was a mere setup created by her father to get her into trouble. As Nanase got famous, he became really jealous of her success and started dreading his own life. So to put an end to things, he wrote a final suicide letter in which he blamed his own daughter for his death and killer himself.

Soon after this, the rumors of Nanase murdering her father caught up with everyone and she was constantly bothered by these false claims. Then after she died, she met her father in the afterlife and found out the truth behind his death. That’s how all of it went down and Nanase ended up returning back to the real world to haunt the world that brought her down. Initially, Nanase’s intention was not to kill people but every single person who saw her started freaking out. So in the end, to get everyone’s attention, she started using the steel beam to kill people.

With this, the real Nanase even appears to be human for a few brief moments but regains her previous state when people either start questioning Kotoko’s new theory or just start empathizing more with Nanase’s father. In the meantime, Kuro’s sister realizes that she’s running out of new paths to choose and kills herself again to alter the future. Kotoko then starts explaining another theory which further diverts everyone from what they believe about Nanase.

Realizing that Nanase’s name itself is quite problematic, she tries to convince people that the girl who was killed was actually Nanase’s body double and to Saki’s surprise, most people even believe it. Focusing on adding all minor details to her lie, Kotoko further elaborates everything and makes sure that people gradually give up on the old image of Nanase that they hold. From the looks of it, she has made a lot of progress but a lot more needs to be done.
