Kyokou Suiri Episode 4 Recap

After punching Kotoko’s face in the previous episode, Saki takes her home and nurses her. The two of them then start talking about Kuro and Kotoko’s relationship with him. Kotoko tries to get Saki all jealous by showing her all the pictures that she took with Kuro, but Saki barely reacts to all of it and claims that Kuro seems uninterested in all the pictures. Their conversation then gets diverted to Nanane and they share their own opinion on the backstory of the Yokai who tries to kill them earlier.

Later, Saki even suggests to her boss that Nanase could be an actual ghost. She even comes across a website online that tells her all about Nanase’s past. Apparently, she was once just an ordinary girl who got a lot of attention because of how incredibly beautiful she was. When she initially started off as an idol, no one really knew much about her, but within a year, she rose to fame and became one of the most popular celebrities in Japan. Her downfall began when she was later accused of murdering her own father. Although this case was never really solved, she was later found dead at a construction site where someone had smashed her head with an iron beam.

Even Kotoko comes across the same website later on and realizes that someone has created a very detailed visual of Nanase on the website. This makes her wonder who could be responsible for making this website. Later in the episode, Kotoko runs into the Yokai all over again and this time around, she seems to be attacking a man. When Kotoko gets a closer look, she realizes that the man is no one but Kuro. And from the looks of it, Kuro seemingly gives the Yokai a tough fight.

In the next episode, titled “A Monster of Imagination”, we’ll probably get to see more of this battle and we might even get a glimpse of Kuro’s past.
