Daniel Lawrence Whitney who is popularly known by his stage name as “Larry the cable guy” was born on February 17, 1963, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the U.S to parents Tom Whitney who is a guitarist, entertainer, and a Christian minister and Shirley Whitney. He is a 55-year-old American Comedian, Actor, Film Producer, Voice Actor, Radio personality, Television producer, and a Screenwriter. He did his schooling at The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, where his father was the elementary school’s Principal and graduated in 1982 from Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach. He also was a student at the Baptist University of America in Georgia, and the University of Nebraska and majored in drama and speech. He married Cara Whitney in 2005.

In the early 1990s, he started his career by making regular radio appearances on the show “The Ron and Ron Show”, “The Bob and Tom show”, “The Chris Baker Show” on KEZO and “The Todd and Tyler Show” on the same channel. He also gave guest appearances on  “The Johnny Dare Morning Show” on 98.9/KQRC, Kansas City.

In 2000, he was invited to join his “Blue Collar Comedy tour” by his fellow comedian and friend Jeff Foxworthy, the tour was a huge success and when the tour was released as a live comedy DVD, over a million copies were sold. He earned $20 million between May 2010 to May 2011 through his Stand-up performances. “Git-R-Done! “is his own catchphrase.

Lord, I Apologize (2001) and The Right to Bear Arms (2005) is his first two comedy albums and both of them got Gold Certification by the RIAA. “Morning Constitutions” is his third album which was released in 2007.“Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy”, a travelogue series was broadcasted on History Channel on February 8, 2011.

He resides on a 180-acre farm in Lincoln, Nebraska along with his wife and two children. A street in Pawnee City, Nebraska is named after him. He is quite generous and kind-hearted. He makes private donations to hospitals and also raised money by making appearances on Family Feud and also donated money to his high school to buy theatrical equipment.
