Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral Season 2: Premiere Date, Characters, Plot

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral (also known as Rasuto Piriodo: Owarinaki Rasen no Monogatari in Japanese) is an action anime television series which is based on an online free-to-play role-playing game (RPG) of the same name. Developed by Happy Elements, the game was released for Android and iOS platforms in Japan in May 2016, and it proved to be quite popular there.

A couple of years after the release of the game, famed Japanese animation studio J.C.Staff announced plans to adapt it into an anime television series and Season 1 of Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral on April 12, 2018. Although it was not a very highly rated show, it still managed to impress fans of the game and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear news on a second season. Here’s everything we know about the prospects of Season 2 thus far.

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral season 1, consisting of 12 episodes, premiered on April 12, 2018 and ran till June 28 of the same year. However, in spite of the show’s popularity among fans of the game, a second season has not been announced yet.

That being said, there’s no reason to get worried just yet if you’re looking forward to a new season of the show. There’s still plenty of time left for J.C.Staff to announce a renewal. Further, owing to the fact that the source of the anime television series is a role-playing game, there are endless possibilities to extend the plot or create a new plot for another season.

Considering everything, we think that the show has a decent chance of getting renewed for another season. However, the anime industry is an unpredictable one and it’s impossible to say for certain what fate awaits Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral until J.C.Staff makes an official announcement on the future of the show. We’re keeping our ears open for news on Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral season 2 release date and we’ll update this section as soon as we hear something reliable.

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral English Dub:

For those who like watching anime shows in English, the bad news is that Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral does not have an English dub yet. However, this does not rule out the possibility of an English dub being made in the future, but we think that it is unlikely since the game was released in Japan and the show is primarily popular in Japan. Hence, if you want to watch the show, you have to watch the original Japanese version. You can find it with English subtitles on Crunchyroll.

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral Plot:

Since Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral is based on the role-playing video game, the show’s plot is similar to the quest-driven narrative of the game.

The show is set in a fictional world where magic users, known as “Periods” have to battle monsters called “Spiral”, who seem to have no end. In this backdrop, the show follows 14-year-old apprentice Period Haru. A part of the Eighth Arc-end Division, Haru, along with his comrades, is tasked with bringing an end to the emergence of the monsters. While Haru’s mission in itself is a supremely difficult one, things get complicated for him and his comrades when a mysterious theft results in the Eighth Arc-end Division going bankrupt. Owing to the bankruptcy, Haru and his comrades are forced to leave the headquarters of the Eighth Arc-end Division. With nowhere left to go, Haru and his comrades are thus forced to set their sights on building a branch of the Division from where they can operate from. This, however, does not prove to be easy, and Haru and his comrades have to complete quest after quest to try and get everything back to the way it was.

Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral Characters:

The characters in Last Period: The Story of an Endless Spiral are imported directly from the video game source, and there are some original additions in the show. In spite of Season 1 having only 12 episodes, the show has considerably long list of characters. However, there are only four main protagonists in the show – Haru, and his fellow Periods Choco, Gajeru, and Liza.
