Either way, before we tell you where to stream ‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’, let us walk you through the plot of the movie.

What is The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part About?

‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’ picks up after the events of the first film and we see that Finn’s sister Bianca has been invited to play with their father’s (Will Ferrell) Lego collection, while he himself has picked up another hobby and is not shown anymore. It is indicated that he has switched to golf. Thus begins a new adventure in the Lego universe with Finn and Bianca playing with the toys.

This new ownership is represented in the universe as the arrival of a couple of Duplo aliens, and Emmet Brickowski (voiced by Chris Pratt) builds them a heart, as a token of friendship. However, one of the aliens eats it, playfully demanding more. Lucy (voiced by Elizabeth Banks) and the Master Builders interpret this as an attack and choose to retaliate, and the battle that follows destroys Bricksburg, where they live.

The film then sees a jump to five years later. We see that Bianca has taken some of Finn’s Lego creations and other toys to play with, which is mirrored in the Lego universe as Duplo invasions, due to which Bricksburg has been turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland called Apocalypseburg. This has hardened most of the citizens, but Emmet still maintains an optimistic outlook, wanting to move into a home with Lucy. However, this optimism does not last long as he is plagued by visions of an oncoming doom – ‘Armamageddon’. Things turn even worse when General Mayhem (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz) arrives and claims that Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi (voiced by Tiffany Haddish) of the Systar System has expressed her desire to marry the leader of Apocalypseburg.

All this does is result in an argument breaking out among Batman (voiced by Will Arnett), Lucy, Benny (voiced by Charlie Day), MetalBeard (voiced by Nick Offerman), and Unikitty (voiced by Alison Brie) about who is the leader. This results in all of them getting captured by Mayhem and taken to the Systar System. Batman agrees to the marriage, and the others are tempted to stay, except for Lucy, who resists. Emmet launches himself in pursuit of Lucy, and during the course of his adventures, he meets a rugged individual Rex Dangervest, also voiced by Pratt. Emmet soon begins to pick up some of Rex’s behavior traits, hoping to impress Lucy with his new tough act.

Meanwhile, in the Systar System, Lucy and her friends are taken to a spa, but when Lucy sees them getting ‘brainwashed’, she escapes to find Emmet. Rex and Emmet have their own adventure evading the queen’s guards to track down Lucy. They also have a plan in place to break the wedding up by splitting up and stopping the music and destroying the wedding cake. During the course of her own ordeals, Lucy learns that Systar System had no intention of antagonizing Apocalypseburg, and only wants to co-exist in peace – which in the real world represents Bianca’s desire to play with Finn. With this comes the realization that it is Rex who must have sinister motives.

Rex turns out to be Emmet from the future, and this bitter version’s name stands for “Radical Emmet Xtreme”. In order to seek revenge for being ignored while the other toys are being played with, Rex had organized ‘Armamageddon’, which in the real world is “Our momma gets in”. This means Finn and Bianca’s mother, upon discovering the siblings’ fight over the Lego, asks them to put away their Lego toys. The universe begins to crumble for these Lego characters, but they simply do not give up. Emmet refuses to be like Rex, and this embittered version is overpowered, finally. Lucy and Emmet also reconcile.

In the real world, Finn and Bianca’s mother reconsiders, once she sees the siblings back together, and lets them play with the Lego sets. The movie ends with the two worlds being combined to form a new ‘Syspocalypstar’, where peaceful coexistence is possible.

Perhaps this is the world we will see in the next Lego movie, but for now, let us tell you where you can watch ‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’.
