Lesley Manville will be seen next in the upcoming fantasy adventure movie ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ by Walt Disney Pictures, which is a sequel to the 2014 film ‘Maleficent’ (2014). Angelina Jolie reprises the titular role in the movie. The film boasts some big names like Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Michelle Pfeiffer, among others.
The story is set several years after the previous film when the horned fairy and her goddaughter Aurora begin to explore the complex intricacies of their relationship. Philip’s mother Queen Ingrith secretly plans to create a barrier between the world of fairies and that of humans forever. Aurora and her fairy godmother become entangled on opposite sides of an impending war.
In the movie, Manville plays the character of Flittle. Joachim Rønning is the director of the movie, with Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson on board as producers. The screenplay is written by Linda Woolverton, Noah Harpster, and Micah Fitzerman-Blue. Geoff Zanelli is the music composer, replacing James Newton Howard from the first film. 5. Ordinary Love (2019)
‘Ordinary Love’ is a drama film that focuses on the lives of a middle-aged couple. The movie is an extraordinary take on the couple’s lives amidst a crisis in the family– the woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn have directed the film, and Owen McCafferty has written the screenplay. The cast includes Liam Neeson, Lesley Manville, David Wilmot, and Amit Shah, to mention a few. The movie is up for a December 6, 2019 release.
4. Let Him Go (2020)
Manville is set to star in the forthcoming crime drama film ‘Let Him Go’, written and directed by Thomas Bezucha. Apart from Lesley Manville, the cast consists of the likes of Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Will Brittain, Jeffrey Donovan, and Kayli Carter, among others. The film chronicles the life of a retired sheriff and his wife. The couple make their best efforts to rescue their grandson from a dangerous off-grid family, following the death of their own son.

3. Misbehavior (2020)
Philippa Lowthorpe is directing the upcoming comedy-drama film ‘Misbehaviour’, from a screenplay by Gaby Chiappe and Rebecca Frayn. The film follows the events of the 1970 Miss World Competition, which witnessed the crowning of the first black competitor.
The plot elaborates on how a group of women hatches a plan to disrupt the pageant. The film has some big names attached to it. Actors like Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessie Buckley, Lesley Manville, Greg Kinnear, Keeley Hawes, Rhys Ifans, Suki Waterhouse, and Phyllis Logan are on board as part of the main cast. Principal photography for the film began on November 2018. The film is supposed to hit the theaters in the next year, i.e, 2020, but the exact date of release has not yet been declared.
2. Dali Land (TBA)
The ‘American Psycho’ director, Mary Harron, has taken up a new project- a biopic of the surrealist artist Salvador Dali. Set in the 1970s, ‘Dali Land’ is narrated through the eyes of a young gallery assistant. He goes on a wild adventure behind the scenes as he helps the aging genius Salvador Dali prepare for a big show in New York. Filming has not begun yet. We have to wait for the makers to disclose further details of the film.

The short drama film ‘The Agency’ has been written and directed by Paul Andrew Robinson. The movie stars Dexter Fletcher, Gwilym Lee, Lesley Manville, Chanel Cresswell, Ania Sowinski, and Elizabeth Boag. The plot is adapted from the acclaimed short story by Man Booker Prize Nominee Sarah Hall. According to the director, ‘The Agency’ is a modern and stylish take on middle-class female empowerment, amidst the social subculture, described collectively as “ladies who lunch”.
Disillusioned with a decade of domesticity, housewife Hannah Baines (Ania Sowinski) befriends an enigmatic older woman Anthea (Lesley Manville,) who introduces her to a selective and seductive inner circle of women. In confidence, Anthea recommends a private and reliable company who “can set up something marvelous” for her. Hannah contemplates the implications of attending her initial consultation at ‘The Agency’. As of now, the film doesn’t have a release date.
