Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden Episode 2 Recap
‘Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden’ starts off by introducing a magical girl named Iroha Tamaki who suffers from serious amnesia and is not able to recall anything about the wish that she made to Kyubey to become a magical girl. She later ends up meeting another magical girl named Kuroe, who tells her that like all the other magical girls, she, too, can be saved if she goes to the city of Kamihami.
While riding a train to the city, the two girls suddenly find themselves in a Witch’s labyrinth. This is when Iroha gets to see a younger-looking Kyubey for the first time before they are rescued by another strong magical girl named Yachiyo Nanami. She appears out of nowhere, defeats the Witch and then asks them to stay away from Kamihama. After her brief meeting with Kyubey, Iroha’s memories come rushing back to her and she remembers that she had wished for her younger sister’s disease to be cured.
Desperate to find answers surrounding the disappearance of her younger sister Ui, Iroha decides to visit Kamihama City even after being warned. When she makes her way to the Satomi Medical Sister, she finds another Witch’s labyrinth. Luckily for her, she finds a whole group of magical girls here which includes Momoko Togame, Kaede Akino, and Rena Minami, all of whom, offer her help with her search. When they reach the medical center wing, they realize that they will not be able to enter it unless they use Rena’s transformation magic to sneak inside the facility. But when Rena disagrees, an argument ensues between her and Kaede. The next day, Kaede realizes that she shouldn’t have been so brash with Rena and tries to make up for the argument they had the previous day. Meanwhile, the Chain Witch ensnares them.
