However, armed gunmen, out of nowhere, storm the federal building and begin to take hostages. The upcoming ‘Magnum P.I.’ season 3 episode 4 is titled ‘First the Beatdown, Then the Blowback’ and features a high-stakes martial arts case. The official synopsis, as provided by CBS, is – “Magnum and Higgins help a mixed martial arts fighter who is being pressured by a gang to throw an illegal fight; Kumu is arrested for stealing an artifact from a collector that should be returned to its original resting place.”

Magnum is summoned by the immigration asking him about his marriage license that he had applied for months back. Later, Magnum, Juliet, and Theodore are in the elevator, and it stops in between. Almost instantly, the trio hears gunshots. Some assailants have taken everyone prisoners in the government building. Magnum tries to call reinforcements but there is no service. They locate a landline and call Gordon. After some time, Gordon and the force reach the building.

He comes to know that there are almost 25 hostages, queued up by the main floor window. The masked black-dressed guys include three men and one woman, holding semi-automatic rifles. Gordon receives a call from the CIA and learns that the kidnapper’s leader is Freddy — the brother of Ray Vaughn (who was indicted for revealing classified information on the mass surveillance of American citizens). He wants his brother in exchange for the prisoners. However, Magnum dresses up as one of the shooters and takes down Freddy. Juliet tackles the woman shooter. All the hostages are freed and the situation is handled. Meanwhile, the visa case is also closed since the entire incident takes place within the immigration department.
