Born as Leland Tyler Wayne in 16 September 1993, Metro Boomin is an American record producer, songwriter and a DJ. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and has four siblings. He started making beats after briefly playing bass guitar in his middle school, Parkway North High School. At the age of 13, while he was in seventh grade, his mother bought him a laptop and his interest in making beats blossomed with the music production software Fruity Loops. Although he wanted to rap and started producing five beats a day in order to have music to rap over, he got inclined towards hip-hop music production and started putting his full attention to it. While still in high school, Metro started using online platforms such as Twitter to submit his beats for potential music placements and also to network with established rap artists.
