He has announced numerous boxing and other sporting events and is famously known for his catchphrase, “Let’s get ready to rumble!” Buffer was brought up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he was born during the Second World War. His father was in the United States Navy He was only 11 months old, and his parents divorced, and Buffer was sent to a foster home where he was raised by a school bus driver and his wife who became his adoptive parents. He grew up in Roslyn which is a Philadelphia suburb. Like his birth father, he sought to serve his country during the Vietnam War and joined the United States Army. He served for three years from 20 to 23.
He started his career as a ring announcer for boxing in 1982. Buffer was also the exclusive announcer for World Championship Wrestling until 2001.
