My 600-lb Life Season 8 Episode 9 Recap:
23-year-old Seana Collins is the subject of episode 9. The Kansas City native, when she first appears in the show, tips the scales at 700 pounds. Not only does she live with her mum but she is also struggling with depression and anxiety. She is concerned about her health and hence, decides to visit Dr. Now.
Seana is both excited and nervous to meet the celebrity bariatric surgeon and her anxiety levels multiply when she loses the prescribed papers, containing her diet and exercise routines. She says: “I wish I still had the papers he gave me that had all the diets and exercises on it. My life literally rests in this man’s hands, I don’t want to call Dr. Now. I just don’t want him to be upset, I just want to do the diet like I am now…but it’s not easy.”
In her next meet with Dr. Now, she weighs 658 lbs and Dr. Now tells her to lose another 50 pounds for her upcoming appointment. But she falls short of the target by 15 pounds. The doctor then gives her two more months in order to lose another 80 lbs in order to be approved for the weight-loss surgery. However, unluckily, in the next weigh-in, Seans gains 13 pounds rather than losing any weight.
On a really unfortunate note, toward the end of her journey, Seana gains two pounds more than what she weighed during her first visit. Dr. Now suggests she join psychotherapy if she really wishes to change herself.
