My Next Life as a Villainess Season 2 Episode 5 Spoilers
In episode 4, after finding out that Rufus is behind everything, Katarina thinks that she can’t sleep. But when Rufus comes into her room, he finds her sound asleep and wonders whether she has nerves of steel. He wakes her up and reveals that his master has sent him to ensure that Gerald and Ian are removed from the line of succession so that Jeffrey can become the next king. He has abducted Katarina to put all the blame on Selena.
Katarina sees through Rufus’ actions and comes to believe that he is ultimately a good person. She asks him to join her for tea, and a very surprised Rufus accepts. They converse about Katarina’s secret visits to the downtown area and Rufus’ past. He tells her that he was born in the slums of a foreign country and was taken by slave traders. His current master later found him. Katarina suddenly stands and claims that she finds his inherent optimism despite the adversities he has faced to be admirable, again surprising Rufus. When Katarina observes that Rufus’ eyes remind her of a clear sky, he recalls receiving the same compliment from a wealthy but kind man when he was still living in the slums.
Rufus is charmed by Katarina’s kindness and ability to look beyond class and economic divides. Later that night, he takes her into his arms and puts her on the bed. He then proceeds to give her a hickey. Dense as she is, Katarina thinks that he is trying to cast dark magic on her and later says a bug bit her on the neck. Eventually, she is rescued by all her admirers. After hearing how bold Rufus has been with Katarina, Gerald promptly discards his approach of taking it slow with Katarina and kisses her, making everyone else in the room shout in surprise.
In episode 5, the real identity of Lana Smith might be revealed. Now, as Gerald has kissed Katarina, the status quo has changed, and a war of love might begin between all her admirers. Meanwhile, another member of the Claes family might go missing, prompting Katarina to search for them.
