Nancy McKeon was born on 4th April 1966 in Westbury, New York, USA. She began modeling at the age of two for the Sears & Roebuck catalog. From then along with her brother Philip she acted in numerous commercials. Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1976 when her brother got a role on a TV series. McKeon appeared in soap operas The Secret Storm and Another World and was performing in commercials. In 1979, McKeon was cast in the sitcom TV series, The Facts of Life on NBC. She started her career as tomboy Jo Polniaczek during show’s second season. She continued performing her role as Polniaczek until the show canceled in 1988.

In 1995, McKeon starred in her own series, Can’t Hurry Love, aired on CBS. The series was about Annie, a single woman in her thirties living in New York and about her friends namely Didi, Roger, and Elliot. In 1998, McKeon starred in television sitcom Style & Substance along with Jean Smart. The show was aired on CBS. In 2001, McKeon portrayed the role of Inspector Jinny Exstead in the crime drama television series The Division. The series talked about a team of women police officers in the San Francisco Police Department.

In 2009, McKeon appeared as a recurring character in the role of Connie Munroe, the mother of the titular character Demi Lovato in the Disney Channel Original Series Sonny with a Chance. McKeon also gave voice to many ABC Weekend Special cartoon characters.

Apart from TV series, McKeon performed in many TV movies. This include The Facts of Life Goes to Paris (1982), Dusty (1983), High School U.S.A (1983), Poison Ivy (1985), Firefighter (1985), The Facts of The Life Down Under (1987), Strange Voices (1987), A Cry For Help: Tracy Thurman Story (1989), Baby Snatcher (1992), Comfort and Joy (2003), Wild Hearts (2006) ,Love Begins (2011).

In 1992, McKeon appeared in drama film directed by Marc Rocco, Where the Day Takes You. A year later in 1994, she starred in action-comedy-crime film  Teresa’s Tattoo by Julie Cypher. The following year McKeon starred in the film The Wrong Woman (1995) by Doubles Jackson. She also acted in 1997 romantic comedy Just Write by Andrew Galleries. McKeon got married to Marc Andrus in 2003 and the couple has two daughters.
