New Amsterdam Season 2 Episode 17 Recap:
‘New Amsterdam’ season 2 episode 17 is titled ‘Liftoff.’
In a literal sense, Dr. Floyd Reynolds lifts off, in this episode. Although he has been talking about it throughout the season, not one person thought he would actually leave – neither his fellow doctors nor fans. But before leaving, Reynolds attends one last case as he rescues a young man who has slipped down an elevator shaft. His departure seems surreal. Maybe he will come back in the future?
Moving on. Helen asks Max to feature in a crowdfunding video made by kids, who are unable to fund their medical expenses. And the video goes viral. Karen, who is known to oppose such ideas often, lends her support to the cause. Helen throws a gala for the kids. The men are all suited up, and the ladies turn up looking divine in gorgeous outfits. Max is awestruck, looking at Helen. All of them raise a toast to their friend and coworker, Reynolds.
Elsewhere, Kapoor helps Mateo, a former pilot, and a paraplegic patient, to move again, by resorting to smart flight-stimulation technique. Iggy is struggling with his eating disorder but won’t give up. Also, after a long time, we see Duke back in action.
