When is Bleach New Season Release Date?

That being said, ‘Bleach’ was abruptly called off back in 2012, but surprisingly, that wasn’t the end of this long-running shounen. Read on further to know all about the upcoming Bleach anime.

Bleach Season 17 Release Date: When will it premiere?

It has been quite some time since ‘Bleach‘ came to an end. Despite being among the “Big 3” shounen, ‘Bleach’ was discontinued in 2012 because of its dwindling viewership. Animated by Studio Pierrot (‘Tokyo Ghoul‘, ‘Naruto‘, ‘Black Clover‘), ‘Bleach’ first started airing on October 5, 2004 and went on till March 27, 2012, and during this span, it aired a total of 366 episodes. Many ‘Bleach’ fans were left disappointed after it was discontinued but little did they know that their beloved shounen series would return after almost a decade. In the initial few weeks of 2020, several fans of the anime took it upon themselves to promote some allegedly scanned images from Weekly Shonen Jump, which confirmed the anime’s return.

This new installment of ‘Bleach’ is an adaptation of the much-awaited ‘Thousand-Year Blood War’ arc and is scheduled to release sometime in 2021. Its release may be a bit too far for now but another good news for fans is that before it comes out, Studio Colorido will also be releasing a separate adaptation for the one-shot manga, ‘Burn the Witch’. ‘Burn the Witch’ is scheduled to release sometime in October 2020 and it will certainly satiate the long waiting time for fans. Now the anime wrapped up long before Kubo finished the original manga, so the creators of this new installment have a whole lot of source material to work with. The ‘Thousand-Year Blood War’ arc is one of the most intriguing arcs of the anime as it not only gives you a glimpse of Ichigo’s past but also makes some of the most insane revelations which completely alter the Soul Society, leaving a huge impact on Ishida.
