Paul Davis Ryan Jr. is an American politician born on January 29, 1970. Paul Ryan is currently serving as the 54th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives since 2015.  He has been appreciated all over the world because of his policies and way of working. He has been appointed to many positions apart from USA’s 54th speaker. Ryan became the member of the Republican of the House Budget Committee in 2007, and then he occupied the position of chairman in 2011 after the Republicans took control of the House.

He was the nominee for Republican Party for Vice President of the United States, running alongside former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in the 2012 election for U.S. president. Ryan also has been the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district since 1999. He was earlier the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee from January 3 to October 29, 2015, and, before that, chair of the House Budget Committee from 2011 to 2015. Ryan, together with Democratic Party U.S. Senator Patty Murray, negotiated the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013.

On October 29, 2015, Ryan was elected to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives due to Boehner’s retirement, becoming the first ever politician from Wisconsin to hold this position. He named John David Hoppe, lobbyist, as his Chief of Staff. In the same year, he was nominated to deliver the Republican response to the State of the Union address. During his tenure of 13 years in the House, Ryan was the main sponsor of more than 70 bills or amendments, of which only two were sanctioned into law. One was passed in July 2000, renaming a post office in Ryan’s district; the other one was passed in December 2008, lowering the excise tax on arrow shafts.

Ryan was a faithful supporter of the George W. Bush administration’s foreign policy priorities who voted for the 2002 Iraq Resolution, approving the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Paul Ryan was also awarded with many honors and trophies that include the Guardian of Small Business Award in 2010, National Federation of Independent Business in 2008, Manufacturing Legislative Excellence Award, National Association of Manufacturers in 2009, Statesmanship Award, Claremont Institute (2011), Chair, Honorary Board of the Archery Trade Association in 2012 and Alexander Hamilton Award, Manhattan Institute for Policy Research in 2014.

Ryan married Janna Little in 2000. The couple has three children- Liza, Charles, and Sam.
