Paul Wall was born on March 11, 1981, in Houston, Texas, US. His full name is Paul Michael Slayton. He was born to American parents who belong to Georgetown. He went to Jersey Village High School in Texas. Later, he applied at the University of Houston and studied Mass Communications there for three years. As he had a dream of becoming a rapper, he chose to follow his dream and dropped out of the university. Paul Wall is not only a rapper but is also a disc jockey. After he dropped out of the University, Paul and his musical fellow partner Chamillionaire chose to work with Swishahouse, a company which belonged to Michael Watts. They put in a lot of efforts to impress Watts and came up with a mixtape titled “Choppin Em Up Part 2” that was released in mid-1999. This made them the permanent members of Swishahouse.
Later, Paul and Chamillionaire started off with their own group named as “The Colour Changin’ Click”. Each of the mixtape released by the group led to more business opportunities which include a contract to make a full album Paid in Full Records. Paul Wall got his first music exposure by promoting a few southern labels such as “Cash Money”, “No Limit Records” and “Def Jam Records.” Later, Paul and Chamillionaire both parted ways due to creative differences. In 2009, he appeared in the film “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell” as a fictional rapper Grillionaire. In 2011, Paul collaborated with Jump Shot Media in order to create the first ever mobile battle rap game known as “Battle Rap Stars.” In the year 2012, he released a mixtape titled “No Sleep Til Houston”.
