How did Pawan Kalyan earn his money and wealth?
Pawan Kalyan is an Indian film actor, producer, director, screenwriter, writer, and politician who is a very prominent figure in Telugu cinema. He was born as Konidela Kalyan Babu on the 2nd of September in 1971 to Konidela Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. His elder brothers Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu are also very popular South Indian personalities so are his nephews Ram Charan, Varun Tej, and Sai Dharam Tej.
Kalyan made his Telugu film debut in 1996 as Kalyan Kumar in the film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi followed by Muthyala Subbaiah’s Gokulamlo Seetha and Suswagatham the very next year in 1997. His 1998 movie Tholi Prema was a massive success among both critics and audience and went on to win a National Award and six Nandi Awards. In the film Thammudu, Kalyan portrayed the role of a kickboxer in the 1999 P.A. Arun Prasad film Thammudu. After a couple more movies, the next happening film in Kalyan’s career was the 2001 film Kushi directed by S.J. Surya. The film saw great success at the box office.
In 2003, the film Johnny hit the big screens. The film not only starred Pawan Kalyan but also was written and directed by the latter. The following year in 2004, he wrote script and screenplay for the film Gudumba directed by Veera Shankar and produced by the former’s brother Nagendra Babu. He also stepped in as the choreographer for three songs in the film besides putting together the action sequences. Kalyan’s 2006 film Annavaram directed by Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao wherein he was cast opposite Asin and Sandhya sacked a whopping $4.7 million in just 70 Days. Kalyan also choreographed a song in this super hit movie.
His second directorial venture Satyagrahi was launched in 2006 but had to be dropped soon after the pre-production work. Jalsa starring Kalyan and directed by Trivikram Srinivas came out in 2008 and its first day in theatres set the record for being the highest first-day collection ever by a Telugu film in the history. It later went on to become the highest grossing Telugu movie of the year.
Other notable films starring Kalyan include Gabbar Singh, Attarintiki Daredi, Gopala Gopala and Sardaar Gabbar Singh. In 2001, Kalyan was seen endorsing Pepsi. In the year 2014, he was ranked as one among the Top 5 Heroes of India by a survey conducted by STAR India.
